Of course, to have a playwright like Paula on Broadway, would always have been such a blessing and was something we all wanted. As soon as it became a feasible idea to remount the play, we were interested in doing it. Mary-Louise Parker: It’s interesting because I don’t feel like the other production ever stopped, at least not within me. What was behind the idea to revisit it with cast members and the director of the original? This play first premiered in 1997, and a revival was due on Broadway in 2020-which is finally happening now.
